Cleanroom qualifi cation of E6 e-chains ®
By using a special material, the already low abrasion behaviour of
the e-chain ® can be reduced even further. In many applications
where cumbersome special solutions are required, a simple
standard e-chain ® can be used instead. IPA tests confi rm that
the standard e-chains ® from igus ® meet the requirements in
cleanrooms and have been "Tested and certifi ed as very good!".
Cleanroom applications demand very high wear resistance
of moving parts. e-chains ® , for example, must be very wear-
resistant, in order to meet the normal requirements for such a
sensitive environment.

IPA classifi cation - report 0704-400:
● Standard material - IPA cleanroom Class 3, according to DIN EN ISO 14644-1
for series E6.29.060.150.0 at v = 0.5m/s, 2.0m/s and series E6.29.050.055.0

Noise level ≤ 37dB(A) - a measurement conducted by the Rhineland Technical Inspection Authority (TÜV
Rheinland) in May 2002 indicates a value of ≤ 46dB(A) at 2m/s and with an unsupported length of 1.5m with
series E6.52.100.100.0, and all this with at least 10dB(A) sound pressure level generated by external noise. We
have received an offi cial noise certifi cate from the Rhineland Technical Inspection Authority (TÜV Rheinland Berlin
Brandenburg) and we are happy to provide you with a copy upon request. A measurement carried out in the
igus ® laboratory resulted in a value of 37dB(A) at v = 1m/s for the series E6.29.080.075.0 (unsupported length).
