The news of Professor Dr. Bhanupong Nidhiprabha’s passing this week brought deep sadness.
He was my thesis advisor during my Master’s program at Thammasat University, guiding me
through challenging courses like Macroeconomics and Financial Aspects in Economics. Those
courses instilled in me invaluable foundational knowledge that has served me well throughout
my career. More importantly, Professor Bhanupong graciously accepted me as his thesis advisee,

leading me to receive an outstanding thesis award from the university.
Professor Bhanupong embodied the qualities of an exceptional teacher. He went beyond
simply imparting academic knowledge, and demonstrating excellence in research. He fostered

valuable skills in his students, instilled confidence, nurtured academic ambitions, and provided
guidance on the journey of lifelong learning. Even after graduation, he continued to offer advice
on career development, self-discipline, and workplace ethics.
His influence was profound. When asked why I chose to become a teacher, I readily answer:
“Professor Bhanupong”. Working with him opened my eyes to the joys of teaching beyond simply

conveying information. He showed the fulfillment of research, mentorship, and shaping young
minds. He was an inspiration in every sense.
Farewell, respected teacher. I offer my deepest gratitude for all you have given your students.

Your dedication, your wisdom, and your kindness will continue to resonate with us. May you find
peace and happiness in the afterlife.
