Enlisting Bhanupong’s assistance again, I endeavored to enhance the educational experience
at Doshisha University, where I transitioned after my tenure at Kyoto University. Spearheading
seminars on Asian economics for undergraduate students, I seized upon the opportunity to
foster internationalization by facilitating interactions between Bhanupong’s students and mine.
Collaborative efforts culminated in meticulously orchestrated overseas training programs, fostering
intellectual exchange and imbuing my seminar with newfound vigor. The ripple effects are
profound, as evidenced by the heightened enthusiasm for academic pursuits among my students,
many of whom have pursued advanced studies domestically and abroad, while others have ventured
into professional domains both at home and abroad, fostering enduring connections with their
Thammasat counterparts.
Lastly, amidst our scholarly deliberations in Kyoto, culinary excursions formed an integral
facet of our camaraderie, often culminating in shared indulgence in curry rice. A cherished haunt,
the curry shop I introduced to Bhanupong resonates with his spirit, evoking poignant memories
of our convivial repasts. As I continue to frequent this establishment, I find solace in the enduring
memory of our camaraderie.
Gratitude abounds, Bhanupong, for your myriad contributions. May you rest in eternal peace.
