Message from ASEAN-BAC Chairs

BRUNEI

The ASEAN-BAC Brunei conveys its strong commendation
to the ASEAN-BAC Thailand for raising the bar in the staging of the
2019 ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) and the ASEAN
Business Awards (ABA) Gala Night on November 2-3 in Bangkok. We
are most grateful to ASEAN-BAC Thailand Chair, Khun Arin Jira, and
his colleagues in the Council – Khun Phairush Burapachaisri and Khun
Kobsak Duangdee and the entire Thai team for their dedication and

DSLJ HJ ABD RAHMAN hard work to bring about another thought-provoking and action-
oriented ABIS.
We are happy to inform that ASEAN-BAC Brunei has been doing its share to positively add
value to ASEAN-BAC Thailand’s “Legacy Project” (AHEAD, or the ASEAN Human Empowerment
And Development). We have taken one of the pillars of AHEAD – specifically the pillar on Digitally
Empowered MSMEs as a shared commitment through the promotion of “Sustainable TVET or
Technical and Vocational Education and Training”, which is being championed by the ASEAN
Future Workforce Council. The Council is a private and public partnership platform where we aim to
provide the policy environment and facilitate the establishment of seedbeds for both hardware and
software TVET elements to prepare our youth and our vocationally-inclined students and workforce
for the 4IR. TVET continues to be an effective driving force in close partnership with business and
industries in addressing the immediate and medium-term requirements of the market both
domestically and regionally.

CAMBODIA

ASEAN-BAC Cambodia wishes to congratulate ASEAN-BAC
Thailand for their remarkable work of the 2019 ASEAN Business and
Investment Summit (ABIS) and the ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) on
November 2-3, 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The theme of “Empowering ASEAN 4.0” has encouraged us
and built enthusiasm on Industrial Revolution 4.0 enhancement in
ASEAN Member States. Cambodia has targeted for growing into digital

MENG economy by 2023. Recently, we have started to galvanize the digitalized
and automation system into our economic and industrial system, as
well as into our workers in catching up with the development.
Together with the strong partnership of all ASEAN Member
States, embracing Industrial Revolution 4.0 shall be our main focus in
order to develop greater performance in uniting and improving the
ASEAN economy.
