                                            MALAYSIA

On behalf of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia, we wish to congratulate
our esteemed 2019 Chair, Khun Arin Jira, and the whole Thai Team
for spearheading a well-thought out thematic program and putting
together the considerable organizational infrastructure to ensure an
excellent rendition of our culminating ASEAN Business and Investment
                                 Summit event in November.
We are indeed in full support of this year’s chairmanship theme
        Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Mohd
Munir Abdul Majid of “Empowering ASEAN 4.0” which is most timely and opportune. At
this critical juncture of the formative years of the ASEAN Economic
Community, when our way of doing business and our way of life are being disrupted by the forces
of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the call to harness and blend these forces to make ASEAN Member
States, especially the MSMEs, more globally competitive has become most urgent and absolutely
        necessary.
ASEAN-BAC Malaysia has in its own small way tried to align our programs and contribute
to the furtherance of ASEAN-BAC Thailand’s Legacy Project of “AHEAD”, or ASEAN Human
Empowerment And Development. We have launched projects under two of the four pillars of
AHEAD which are the Digitally Empowered Workforce and Digital Access to Finance for MSMEs.
Under the Digitally Empowered Workforce pillar, we are nearing completion of our research work
on the impact of 4IR on jobs and what solutions need to be developed to address the gaps. On the
2nd pillar of Digital Access to Finance for MSMEs, we have expanded our Legacy Project to highlight
ASEAN FinTech Solutions for MSMEs. We are pleased to have undertaken various symposia to roll
out our programs under the two pillars which we aim to feed and translate into concrete policy
recommendations and private sector programs and projects to ensure the success of AHEAD.
Once again, a well-deserved congratulations to the Thailand Chairmanship and the
successful staging of this year’s ASEAN Business and Investment Summit. We look forward to
continued pursuance by Vietnam next year of Industry 4.0 theme for the advancement of ASEAN.

                                            MYANMAR

The ASEAN-BAC Myanmar joins the rest of the Council in
congratulating ASEAN-BAC Thailand for elevating the 2019 ASEAN
Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) and the ASEAN Business
Awards (ABA) Gala Night to global standards. We are most grateful for
the solid commitment and dedication that went into the preparations
and execution of our culminating ABIS and ABA events this year which
                                 makes us proud.
           U ZAW MIN WIN
It is indeed a special privilege to have worked with the ASEAN-
BAC Thailand Chairmanship this year whose theme on “Empowering
ASEAN 4.0” and its Legacy Project “AHEAD”, or ASEAN Human
