Located on Vithei Charles de Gaulle about halfway between Siem
Reap and Angkor Wat, this museum should not be missed either
before or after your visit to the ancient ruins. Opened just over
ten years ago, this fascinating collection of Angkorian artefacts is
beautifully displayed in eight themed galleries. The first, The Gallery
of 1000 Cambodian Buddha Images, breathes with a devout
reverence that has lived through the ages. The next seven take
visitors on a journey through these eras before, during and at the
end of the great Khmer Empires. Audio tours with commentaries
in eight languages and the interactive, multimedia displays will
certainly enhance your impressions and memories of the UNESCO
World Heritage Angkor temples and palaces.
