instructors for pending results. Concurrently, he directed the Academic Affairs Division to compile
a detailed report for the monthly Deans’ meeting (KBM), aiming to devise strategies to expedite
rectification and forestall recurrences.
Over a year, concerted efforts yielded both solutions and preventive measures, albeit amid
resistance from certain faculties and professors. This ordeal proved arduous and taxing for both
Professor Bhanupong and our team. Nevertheless, it culminated in the establishment of stringent
protocols for result submission, accompanied by penalties for tardiness. Professor Bhanupong’s
unwavering commitment to accuracy profoundly bolstered the university’s educational framework,
safeguarding the interests of students. These measures likely remain integral components of the
university’s operational framework to this day.
Navigating the realms of system development and quality assurance implementation,
alongside addressing the exam result debacle, consumed a significant portion of Professor
Bhanupong’s time. In the absence of a designated Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, he bore the
sole responsibility for managing the university’s academic domain. Remarkably, amidst these
administrative duties, Professor Bhanupong remained deeply entrenched in his academic pursuits,
juggling teaching and research endeavors with finesse.
Rising early to prepare for classes, Professor Bhanupong exemplified diligence and
dedication, often conducting lectures either in the early mornings or evenings. His official work
hours were maximized for meetings and administrative tasks, all the while maintaining a steadfast
commitment to scholarly inquiry. Collaborating extensively with international scholars from
diverse backgrounds, including Japanese, American, Indian, and Indonesian academics, Professor
Bhanupong orchestrated international conferences to foster knowledge exchange and showcase
research progress.
Additionally, he regularly showcased his scholarly contributions at foreign universities,
typically making 2 to 3 presentations annually, thereby enriching academic discourse and fostering
global partnerships. Professor Bhanupong’s exceptional time management skills were evident
in his meticulous planning and efficient utilization of resources, underscoring his unwavering
dedication to academic excellence and institutional advancement.
If one had the opportunity to acquaint oneself with Professor Bhanupong, one might have
observed his aversion to administrative tasks, particularly evident during his second term. Despite
this sentiment, his unwavering love for Thammasat University and Rector Naris propelled him
to fulfill his duties until the very end of his tenure. Within the Academic Affairs Division, his
leadership style was characterized by the delineation of policies and overarching principles,
delegating responsibilities while refraining from micromanagement or issuing directives. This
approach fostered a harmonious working environment, allowing for effective command without
unnecessary hindrances.
