Professor Bhanupong Nidhiprabha held the esteemed position of Vice-Rector for Academic
Affairs at Thammasat University under the leadership of Rector Associate Professor Dr. Naris
Chaiyasoot. Serving for nearly two terms, from July 1999 to October 2004, Professor Bhanupong’s

tenure spanned over five years, marked by his dedicated stewardship of the university’s academic
and research endeavors. Despite assuming office almost a year after Professor Naris was appointed
Rector, Professor Bhanupong’s impact was profound and lasting.
As the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Bhanupong oversaw all aspects of
academic and research administration, including policy formulation, innovation, and the day-to-

day management of graduate programs. His responsibilities encompassed a broad spectrum, from
student admissions and faculty management to curriculum development, scholarly advancement,
and the allocation of scholarships for faculty development and international study. Assisting him

in these efforts was the Office of Educational Services, where he served as the Director of the
Division, leading a team of nearly fifty personnel.
Throughout his tenure, Professor Bhanupong achieved two significant milestones that reshaped
the university’s academic landscape. First, he spearheaded the creation and implementation of a
robust quality assurance system for education at Thammasat University. Tasked by Rector Naris

with this pivotal initiative, Professor Bhanupong addressed the burgeoning need for quality
assurance in higher education, paving the way for enhanced standards and accountability within
          the institution.
