Acknowledgement
According to an African proverb, it takes a village to raise a child. I could say the
same when I put together this remembrance book for the first death anniversary of my
husband, Bhanupong. I would not be able to complete this book without the cooperation
and assistance of several persons who took precious time from their busy lives to join
me on this journey.
First and foremost, I would like to offer my warmest thanks to the Contributors.
Their stories flesh out the very essence of this book. As we read their narratives, we
hear Bhanupong’s voice, his laughter. We see his face and a smile that lingers on. We
remember him.
To the following persons, my deepest gratitude:
From Thammasat University: Dr. Naris Chaiyasoot, for his priceless support in creating
this book; Supunkae Samalapa (Paew), for contacting other former students; Juthathip
Jongwanich, for reaching out to her AEP colleagues; Nongnuch Soonthornchawakan,
for sharing photos from Thammasat University; Phongthon (Ton) Wrasai, for Thai
edits, and Praneet Yomchinda (Noi), for encouraging her former Thammasat University
friends to contribute their stories.
From the Asian Economic Panel (AEP): Maria Socorro (Corina) Gochoco-Bautista,
Shigeyuki (Yuki) Abe, Wing Thye Woo, and Zach Lee, for encouraging other members
to write their tributes and for sharing AEP photos. And Suresh Narayanan, for his
invaluable editing, and putting this book together.
Jintana Manorothkul for finding the e-book publisher.
