The use of rail claws significantly
facilitates the installation of inductive
Frauscher wheel sensors. Based on
years of practical field experience, the
wheel sensors almost can be fitted to
any rail type, including vignol and
grooved rail. This eliminates the need
for time-consuming drilling work, as
required for legacy models or the
installation of different track circuits
variants. The latter also often require
installing particular insulating joints,
which is the only way to separate the
individual track sections.
The pluggable connection cable in combination with the
patented rail claw simplifies both the dismounting and the
replacement of the wheel sensor RSR123
Low maintenance in operation
Reliability and running costs
are closely related and form
essential factors in the
operation of an
infrastructure network. In
addition to high power
consumption, maintenance-
intensive components must
also be classified as cost
drivers. In both points, axle
counters have significant
advantages over track
circuits. While insulated rail
Frauscher Diagnostic Tool FDS on iPad joints or S-connectors
require more frequent
maintenance, inductive wheel sensors show practically no wear signs if these are manufactured
with the appropriate quality. They function reliably and safely at intervals of up to two years.
Changes in the condition and conductivity of the track bed do not affect their functional principle.
Frauscher axle counters also offer the possibility of continuously monitoring the system's status
using innovative diagnostic tools, like the Frauscher Diagnostic Tool FDS, that enables fast and
efficient fault clearance, remote access, preventive maintenance and statistic evaluation.
