As a result, the cost was decreased, including the overall process of radiology DVD service and
maintenance cost. This represents a substantial cost savings that can reduce the need to purchase DVDs
for radiology imaging, ultimately decreasing the overall hospital cost
5. Reduce the step process and decrease patient waiting
times to obtain Radiology images
In the old workflow process, obtaining a DVD required 21 steps and patients were waiting at least
6 hours. However, with the implementation of an online portal, the new process reduced the steps to 12,
which was a 43% decrease from the old process. In addition, patient waiting times were reduced from 6
hours to 15 minutes, which was a 96% decrease from the old process.
