The City Planning and Urban Development Department participated in meetings
with the Ad Hoc Committee on the Inspection and Resolution of Illegal Signage,
which resolved to revise the existing ordinance into the BMA Ordinance, B.E.
2567 (2024). This revised ordinance, which came into effect on 15 January 2025,
maintains controls over key areas such as expressways, railways, major roads, the
Chao Phraya River, and areas surrounding selected monuments, while clarifying
regulatory requirements.
Key Changes
• Reduction of controlled roads from 106 to 64 routes
• Expansion of the signage control radius around Victory Monument from 200
meters to 300 meters
• Cancellation of controlled zones around the Constitution Protection Monument
• Expansion of exempted signage categories, including signs installed by
government agencies or state enterprises for official purposes, and signage at
fuel, LPG, and natural gas service stations
