INTERVIEW - HOMESTAY

Year 11, Eltham College

Since I got into Eltham College, I have had the chance to
stay with a host family for 2 years since then. In the family, there
are a host mother and two other foreign students from China and
Vietnam. In the first period of staying here, similar to other students,
it was the adaptation period. However, with great support from
the host mother, such as bringing us on a city tour, makes me feel
more familiar with this foreign country. For the house rules, there
are not many.

We live under a warm and cosy house because everyone
knows what their roles and responsibilities are. I think this
is an experience that makes me grow up a lot more than
before because I had the chance to take care of myself
more than I did in the past. Even though my host mother
is not very sociable, I can feel the caring from her for all
the time I am with her. When I got sick, she took very good
care of me. This place is very comforting.
