Open daily from 8.30 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.
When looking north from the foot of the bridge in Thailand, a giant Buddha
will be seen watching over the community along with a new giant, slithering
Phaya Naga, Venerable Serpent, at the hilltop Wat Roi Phra Puttabat Phu
Manororom. It takes about 40 minutes to reach the peak, where you will
also be greeted by spectacular panoramas of the meandering river, bustling
cities and lush countryside. There is also 3D-illusory photographic artwork
that captures visitors’ attention along with a 120-meter long, greenish
blue sculpture of the mythical naga serpent believed to breath fire from
its realm below the Mekong and an enormous Buddha image perched 84
meters above the ground in a position of serene meditation. Many I-san
natives will also make a pilgrimage to this site to pay homage to Phra That
Phu Manorom, Phra Angkhan Phet and a small replica of the Buddha’s
footprint.
