A well-functioning city must begin by placing “people” at the
center of development. Accordingly, the City Planning and Urban
Development Department is committed to designing Bangkok in
a manner that aligns with the daily lives of its residents covering
land use, transportation, public utilities, green spaces, and
areas for recreation and shared activities. At the same time, the
Department undertakes monitoring and regulatory oversight
to ensure that Bangkok’s growth remains orderly, aesthetically
pleasing, and safe, fostering a city where all residents can live
comfortably and coexist harmoniously.
