In its scope and range, e-chain ® products from igus ® are unique on the market. igus ® energy
More than 100,000 chains cover a range of inner heights from 5mm to 350mm - the right energy supply system for
e-chains ® parts available every application. The most common types are briefl y presented below. Further special solutions
from stock! are described in the respective sections with their design features.

easy chain ® - easy to fi ll and cost-eff ective. The e-chain ® links of the easy chain ® are one-piece.
Due to the "easy" design, cables can be pressed into the e-chains ® easily and quickly. Filling can
be carried out either along the inner or outer radius. Opening and closing is not necessary. Typical
applications areas: simple adjustment movements, e.g. offi ce equipment, electronic devices.

E2 e-chains ® and e-tubes - large modular kit for medium duty applications. The e-chain ®
links consist of two parts: a bottom part and a matching crossbar or lid/bottom in the case
of e-tubes. There are diff erent versions of the opening mechanism: openable from one side,
openable from both sides, with/without fi lm hinge, crossbars/lid on a zipper band. As a cost-
eff ective alternative, there are also one-piece, non-openable versions for some series. Typical
application areas: suitable for almost any application area.

E4 e-chains ® and e-tubes - large modular kit for any application. The e-chain ® links consist
of four parts each: two side parts and two crossbars that connect the side parts. In the case of
e-tubes, lids and bottoms are installed instead of crossbars. With some E4 e-chains ® a design
with crossbars every 2 nd link is also possible, i.e. the crossbars are only installed in every second
e-chain ® link. This off ers some advantages, but also has limitations for some applications. Typical
application areas: suitable for almost any application area.

E6 e-chains ® - for particularly dynamic applications. The e-chain ® links consist of six parts
each: two side parts, two crossbars and two link joining piece. The special feature is that the
individual side parts are not connected to each other via a pin/bore connection, but by an
extremely low-wear joining piece. Due to this connector principle and a very small pitch, the E6
e-chains ® are very smooth-running and wear-resistant. Typical areas of application: cleanroom,
semiconductor industry.
YE Hybrid e-chains ® - in the YE series, plastic and steel side parts are combined in order to
combine the best advantages of both materials: due to steel inner links, approx. 50% greater
unsupported length is achieved compared to plastic e-chains ® . Nevertheless they are up to 50%
lighter than comparable pure steel chains and very easy to assemble through screwless and
rivetless connections. Typical areas of application: Access platforms, construction machinery,
lifting platforms
