WHAT TO DO There are also five Buddha images in sitting poses of mediation, each
smaller than the one next to it and each representing one of the Buddha’s
incarnations. Amidst the gardens of this powder-white temple, also known
AND SEE as Wat Phra That Pha Kaew, pretty in their own right, are a stained glass
sala, or gazebo, and delightful smaller pagoda.
The panorama vistas are stunning and its isolated location provides a
soothing tranquility. Not far from the town of Khaen Som, there is still no
public transportation serving this very untraditionally designed temple.

Just off National Highway 12 after the turn to Petchabun town brings
you to one of Thailand’s most extraordinary Buddhist wats. While
its architecture has been compared to that of the Catalan architect
Antoni Guadi, the “Temple on the Glass Cliff is a noted mountain
meditation sanctuary and dharma retreat.
Perched on a peak 830 meters high, the temple features a
mesmerizing lotus flower-inspired, five-story stupa adorned with
over five million pieces of colorful ceramic tiles and pieces of Chinese
pottery surrounding a glass enclosure.
