Over the past five years, AEROTHAI has undertaken extensive preparations to support the
commissioning of the Third Runway at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Key initiatives include:
                     • Developing a new air traffic service concept for a three-runway system
                     • Providing data for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
                     • Enhancing operational procedures to meet safety and efficiency standards
                     • Conducting intensive training for Air Traffic Control Officers
                     • Planning, designing, and installing critical air navigation systems, including:
                        • Upgrades to the Multilateration (MLAT) system
                        • Installation of ILS/DME and related navigation aids

                     • Updating datasets in air traffic control systems to integrate the new runway
                     • Designing new flight procedures to support independent parallel operations
                     • Performing comprehensive safety risk assessments and analyses
                     • Revising operational manuals to reflect the new three-runway format
AEROTHAI is now fully equipped to provide air traffic services across all three parallel
runways at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The implementation of Simultaneous Parallel Operations will
increase handling capacity from 68 to 94 flights per hour, enhancing both efficiency and safety.

This development contributes to Thailand’s economic growth and strengthens its position as
                a regional aviation leader.
