ในปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๗ บริษัทฯ ได้จัดหลักสูตรการบินพลเรือนถวายสมเด็จพระบรมโอรสาธิราช ฯ สยามมกุฎราชกุมาร

(พระราชอิสริยยศในขณะนัน) โดยทรงศึกษาและฝึ กฝนอย่างจริงจังจนทรงได้รับใบอนุญาตนักบินพาณิชย์ตรีและ
นักบินพาณิชย์เอกจากกรมการขนส่งทางอากาศ รวมถึง Certified Aircraft Type Boeing 737-400 จากบริษัทฯ

ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๘ พระองค์ทรงเข้ารับการฝึ กหลักสูตรกัปตัน และในวันที ๓๐ มิถุนายน ๒๕๔๙ ทรงได้รับการ

ทูลเกล้าทูลกระหม่อมถวายตำาแหน่งนักบินที ๑
แม้ทรงมีพระราชกรณียกิจมากมาย แต่ยังทรงปฏิบัติพระราชกรณียกิจด้านการบินอย่างสมำาเสมอ ทรงมีความ

เข้าใจลึกซึงเกียวกับการบินพาณิชย์ และพระราชทานพระราชดำาริในการพัฒนาและปรับปรุงประสิทธิภาพการบิน

ในหลายด้าน ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าโปรดกระหม่อมให้บริษัทฯ จัดเทียวบินพิเศษ มหากุศล กรุงเทพฯ-เชียงใหม่-

กรุงเทพฯ เพือช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบอุทกภัย รวมถึงจัดหาอุปกรณ์ทางการแพทย์ให้โรงพยาบาลในสามจังหวัด

ชายแดนภาคใต้ โดยทรงขับเครืองบินพระทีนังด้วยพระองค์เองพร้อมพระราชทานพระราชดำารัสว่า

Exhibition on His Royal Highness’s Aviation Proficiency and His Benevolence towards
Thai Airways International Public Company Limited
Thai Airways International Public Company Limited was founded on 1 May 1960 and has
continually advanced its business operations and service standards over the past 65 years.
In addition to its core mission in commercial aviation, the Company takes great pride in its
distinguished role in serving the Thai Royal Family. This includes the preparation and operation
of royal aircraft for Their Majesties’ travels and official engagements abroad.
In 2004, the Company organised a civil aviation training course for His Royal Highness
Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn (as titled at the time). His Royal Highness undertook both
academic study and practical flight training with dedication, ultimately earning a commercial
pilot license and an airline transport pilot license from the Department of Civil Aviation, as well
as Boeing 737-400 type rating certification from the Company. In 2005, His Royal Highness
entered the Captain Training Programme and, on 30 June 2006, was graciously appointed as
captain (Pilot-in-Command).
Despite his many royal responsibilities, His Royal Highness continued to perform
aviation-related duties on a regular basis. His deep understanding of commercial aviation was
reflected in several initiatives aimed at enhancing flight operations. One such example was His
Royal Command to the Company to operate a special charitable flight on the Bangkok–Chiang
Mai–Bangkok route, which provided aid to flood victims and delivered medical equipment to
hospitals in the three southern border provinces. His Royal Highness personally piloted the
aircraft on this mission and graciously stated:

“I have thoroughly prepared myself and will fulfil my duty as captain to the best of my
ability so that every passenger will be impressed.”
