As of 2024, Bangkok has a registered population of 5,455,020 people,
representing a slight decrease compared to the previous year. However,
when including an estimated hidden population of approximately
2,855,700 people, the actual resident population exceeds 8.3 million,
accounting for approximately 12.6 percent of the national population.
• District with the highest population density:
Pom Prap Sattru Phai, with more than 19,000 people per square
kilometer
• District with the lowest population density:
Nong Chok, approximately 788 people per square kilometer
These figures reflect the differences in land use between high-density
central urban areas and suburban zones, which continue to possess
substantial potential to accommodate future urban expansion.
