The Bang Khun Thian–Bang Bon area constitutes a suburban community center with high development
potential, owing to its distinctive geographical characteristics, diversified economic structure, and comprehensive
transportation networks that conveniently connect the middle and inner areas of Bangkok with the surrounding
provinces. As a result, the area accommodates diverse population groups and effectively supports the provision
of public services. The master plan therefore establishes the vision of “A Livable Western Bangkok Suburban-Center:
A Model of a Balanced Coastal Environment Resilient to Environmental Change and Effective Water
Management.” The spatial structure is organized into the following seven functional clusters:
1) Bang Khun Thian–Bang Bon suburban commercial district
2) Medium-density residential zone accommodating various market segments
3) Low-density residential zone within a high-quality environmental setting
4) Community industrial rehabilitation zone developed as an eco-industrial town
5) Promoted suburban agricultural zone
6) Areas for the development of community learning centers for sustainable agriculture and coastal tourism
7) Open spaces and areas reserved for natural resource conservation, transportation infrastructure, public
utilities, and public facilities
