The master plan for the development and revitalization of Samsen Canal waterfront and
its related areas has established the vision of “revitalizing Samsen Canal, expanding
the historical foundation toward transportation and tourism opportunities, and
creating a model canal ecosystem.” The plan proposes concepts for the regeneration
of pilot districts along Samsen Canal under the theme “Samsen Renaissance: Beyond
Restoration, Toward Resilient Urban Canal.” This initiative aims to unlock the potential
of the canal-side areas as high-quality urban spaces through the creation of safe and
pedestrian-friendly landscapes, the improvement of water quality, the expansion of
green spaces, and the provision of public activities that respond to modern lifestyles.
