The area from the Memorial Bridge to Tha Din Daeng Pier is
an old town district characterized by traditional commercial
communities, significant landmarks, and a multicultural way of life.
The Chao Phraya Riverfront Landscape Improvement Project
(Memorial Bridge–Tha Din Daeng Section) in the Somdet Chao
Phraya neighborhood, focuses on creating a continuous and safe
riverside pedestrian route along the Chao Phraya River. The project
includes improvements to Phaya Mai Road and the development
of significant sites, such as the King Taksin the Great Monument
and the Wongwian Lek Clock Tower area, into high-quality public
spaces that serve as activity hubs for the public. Landscape design
emphasizes the expansion of green spaces, the provision of rest
areas, and the creation of accessible walkways for all user groups.
The project promotes walking over automobile use and enhances
the image of the waterfront as a new landmark that clearly
preserves and reflects the cultural roots of the Thon Buri side.
